About the Beat

The Michagan Beat has covered the Great Lake State since before anyone thought to ask whether it should. We report on town halls, festivals, high-school box scores, road work, and the occasional disputed fish-fry record, and we print our corrections on Thursdays, at length.

The newsroom

Five people put out the Beat. Two of them remember hot type. Three of them have been told about it many times. Between them they cover Wexagaw County, the lakeshore towns, and anything that happens within a reasonable drive of the Pell Harbor office.

Tips, letters, and corrections

If we got something wrong, tell us. Dot will want the details. If you have a tip, a bake sale, or a cat that has been missing since Tuesday, Marlene will want those too.
